Since 2020, Nimble Media have been the PR & Communications Agency for the Women in Rail charity. We are proud to support this industry charity, created to improve diversity in the UK rail industry. It provides networking opportunities and support for all women within the sector, encourages stakeholders to adopt diversity as a business strategy and promotes rail as an attractive career choice for young people.

Nimble Media has driven Women in Rail’s media outputs, successfully growing their Linkedin audience from 3872 to over 16,000 - displaying an increase of 415%.

Reverse Advent Calendar

Nimble worked closely with the charity over the advent period to deliver their Reverse Advent Calendar campaign, calling out to members across rail to put together hampers for some of the most vulnerable members of their communities. These hampers were then distributed via local food banks, refuges and other charities to those in need over the Christmas holidays.

Lockdown Entertainment

As well as organising two of the charity’s flagship events (The Big Rail Diversity Challenge and Women in Rail Awards), we worked with Women in Rail throughout the lockdown to deliver breakout virtual workshops for primary school-aged children - including a Haka Workshop, Magic Show and Cricket Skills with Matthew Hoggard MBE. For parents, we also organised a series of celebrity Q&A sessions, including Harriet Scott (Magic FM DJ), Sally Boazman (BBC Radio 2 Traffic Reporter) and Mark Cueto MBE (Former Rugby Union player).

Women in Rail Conference

Women in Rail (WR) marked the end of its 10th-anniversary celebrations with its annual Conference on Thursday 2nd March 2023. The conference was sponsored by CAF Rail UK, Egis Transport Solutions, Morson Group, Alstom Transport UK Limited, Great Western Railways and Porterbrook.
The hybrid event, hosted by London law firm Stephenson Harwood, brought together 120 in-person attendees and a virtual audience of almost 100. Tickets had sold out within 48 hours of their release.

The conference began with an EDI-related icebreaker hosted by Lucy Dyer, an Apprentice Civil Engineer at SLC Rail and member of Women in Rail West Midlands Committee. The keynote speaker, Adeline Ginn MBE, shared the journey and achievements of Women in Rail (WR), a charity founded in 2012, and the passion and dedication of the WR team of volunteers. A panel discussion focused on EDI talking points, with a focus on allyship. Attendees had the opportunity to network during lunch and refreshment breaks.
